2025 – Village Aid Project, Zambia

We are so proud of our Durango High Noon Rotary Club members who are currently working at a school in a small village in Zambia.  They are helping to install a water tower, taps for drinking water, hand washing stations and solar lights – Check out these short videos..

Village Aid Project, Zambia

The Durango High Noon Rotary Club joined forces with Fort Lewis College and the Shanta Foundation to initiate a multiyear infrastructure project in rural Zambia. Four borehole water wells were drilled and cased  and then a residential distribution system to serve several remote villages was built. In addition, two bridges were built, giving children access to school during the rainy season.

Supplying Desks and Chairs to a school in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

We were honored to have Judy Duke of Make All Children Smile approach us about an opportunity to provide new school desks and chairs to students in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.  Our International Committee saw this as a chance to work with other Rotary clubs in Southern Colorado.  Combining that effort with a matching grant from our District, Rotary was able to provide $15,000 to help meet this important need.  A good example of the state of their classrooms before Judy pulled off this amazing project can be found by clicking here.
